Question:205 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for Defence the plans his Department has for the use of An Slua Mhuire personnel in relation to the foot and mouth disease crisis; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [7661/01]

Personnel of the Permanent Defence Force are at present being made available in relation to the foot and mouth disease crisis on request from the Garda authorities. There is no requirement at present for personnel of An Slua Muirí in this regard. The situation is being kept under continual review.
