Vol. 532 No. 4

Written Answers. - Rural Environment Protection Scheme.

Ned O'Keeffe

Question:

218 Mr. N. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if all the circumstances of a REP scheme appeal were taken into consideration when determining the appeal in respect of a person (details supplied) in County Cork. [7427/01]

My Department's REPS appeals committee considered this appeal in September 2000. As in every appeal the committee took all the relevant information into consideration, including the case made on behalf of the appellant. However, it decided that the penalty must stand. The appeals committee is independent and its decisions are final.
