420 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government when an inspectorate will be appointed to deal with the compulsory purchase order for the lands in relation to the cable car project for Inishbiggle Island, County Mayo. [7712/01]
Mayo County Council submitted the County Council of the County of Mayo Compulsory Purchase Order (Acquisition of land for proposed cable car link between Inis Bigil and Achill Island) Order 2000 (No. 1) for my confirmation. The functions of the Minister for the Environment and Local Government in relation to the determination of compulsory purchase orders were transferred to An Bord Pleanála under the Planning and Development Act, 2000. Section 267 of this Act came into effect on 1 January 2001 as a consequence of the making of the Planning and Development Act (Commencement) No. 2 Order, 2000. Any inquiries in this matter should therefore be referred to An Bord Pleanála as I no longer have any function in the matter.
