Vol. 532 No. 4

Written Answers. - Rush Hour Traffic.

Austin Currie

Question:

543 Mr. Currie asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he has proposals to improve the flow of traffic on the N4, particularly between the Kildare border and M50 roundabout at peak times; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [7818/01]

Responsibility for traffic management in Dublin including responsibility for the management of traffic on the N4 is shared by a number of agencies, for example, the relevant local authorities, the National Roads Authority, the Department of the Environment and Local Government, the Dublin Transportation Office, the providers of public transport, as well as the Garda.

In so far as Garda element of traffic management on the N4 is concerned, I have brought the Deputy's concerns to the attention of the Garda authorities and I have requested a report on the matter. As soon as this report is to hand I will communicate further with the Deputy.
