Question:

561 Mr. Hayes asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the nature of the contract signed between his Department and a person (details supplied) in relation to emergency accommodation provided for those who are waiting for their asylum applications to be determined; if a specified period of time has been stated in the contract between this person and his Department; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8197/01]

The Directorate for Asylum Support Services which was established in November, 1999 under the aegis of my Department is responsible, inter alia, for meeting the accommodation needs of asylum seekers.

The directorate is not involved in accommodating asylum seekers at this location.
