581 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation if he will approve funding under the Sports Capital Programme for a sports and leisure centre at Ballygar, County Galway; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [7708/01]
An application for funding has been received from the organisation in question under the 2001 Sports Capital Programme. More than 1,450 applications have been received under the programme, all of which will be evaluated in accordance with the assessment criteria which are outlined in the guidelines, terms and conditions of the programme. I intend to announce the grant allocations at the earliest possible date following completion of this assessment process.
