I am pleased to inform the Deputy that County Wexford Vocational Education Committee has recently accepted the schedule of overall accommodation for Coláiste Abbain. The way is now clear for an assessment of the deficit of accommodation at the school. This assessment will occur shortly.

Question:602 Mr. D'Arcy asked the Minister for Education and Science when an extension will be carried out to St. Ibars national school, Castlebridge, County Wexford. [7451/01]
My Department is considering the most efficient and cost-effective way of providing appropriate long-term accommodation at St. Ibars national school, Castlebridge, County Wexford. However, in view of the large number of applications received in my Department for capital funding, it is not possible at this point to give any indication as to the timetable for the provision of the facilities. The school authorities will be kept informed of developments.
