64 Ms McManus asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the progress which has been made in consideration of the need for a new authority with overall responsibility for public safety as recommended by the interdepartmental committee; and if she will make a statement on the matter. I have received the report of the Interdepartmental/Agency Review Group on Public Safety which I published last December. I am still considering the implications of the group's report, including the recommendation to establish an office of public safety regulation, which requires consultation with Government colleagues.
