Vol. 533 No. 1

Written Answers. - Consultancy Contracts.

Phil Hogan

Question:

119 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Social, Community and Family Affairs the names of all consultancy companies that have carried out work for his Department since June 1997; the names of any subsidiary company or agency under their remit; the work or study involved in each case; the amount paid in respect of each case; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8291/01]

From time to time, as part of the ongoing work in my Department, external consultants are commissioned to carry out specific assignments or reviews in relation to policy issues or to aspects of the administration of the Department's schemes and services. These consultancies are arranged at official level under standard procurement procedures.

In the time available it has not been possible to put together the specific information requested by the Deputy in relation to consultancy projects undertaken over the period in question. I will arrange, however, for the available information to be compiled and forwarded to the Deputy during the next week.
