I now propose to deal with a notice of motion under Standing Order 31 from Deputy Paul Connaughton.
Request to move Adjournment of Dáil under Standing Order 31.
I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to debate the following urgent matter of public importance, namely the need to allocate milk quota from the reserve available for the marketing year 2001-02, beginning on 1 April 2001, to members of the Milk Rights Quota Group or to provide compensation for those members on the same basis as that provided in court judgments to persons in similar situations.
Having considered the matter fully, I do not consider it to be contemplated by Standing Order 31, therefore, I cannot grant leave to move the motion.
I have difficulty understanding why it is not considered—
It is not considered. The Deputy must accept the Chair's ruling in these matters.
