88 Mrs. B. Moynihan-Cronin asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the reason persons (details supplied) in County Kerry were not paid under the 1988 scheme of compensatory allowances in respect of forestry; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8321/01]

The first person named is not eligible under the 1988 scheme of compensatory allowances in respect of forestry as he was not in receipt of 1987 grants under the sheep headage scheme or the cattle and equines headage scheme or the beef cow headage scheme in the disadvantaged areas, as required under clause 3(a) of the terms and conditions governing the scheme of compensatory allowances in respect of forestry.

The second person named was not an applicant under the 1988 scheme of compensatory allowances in respect of Forestry.
