Vol. 533 No. 4

Written Answers. - Defence Forces Property.

Jack Wall

Question:

93 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for Defence if he has responsibility for the maintenance of the national school building in the Curragh Camp, County Kildare; if so, the plans he has for its renovation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9179/01]

My Department has recently completed fencing around the boys school at a cost of approximately £40,000 and, previously, replaced the solid fuel boiler system in the girls school at a cost of approximately £30,000. Local maintenance jobs, replacement of broken windows, painting and repair of a water main outside the school, for example, have also been carried out by the army corps of engineers. There are no proposals in this years' building programme for works at either of the schools.
