Vol. 533 No. 5

Written Answers. - Health Board Allowances.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

118 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason a person (details supplied) in County Dublin receives no pocket money or pension; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9426/01]

Sections 22(3) and 22(4) of the Nursing Home (Subvention) Regulations, 1993, permit health boards to contract beds in private nursing homes. The application of this provision in the Dublin area is a matter for the Eastern Regional Health Authority.

In the particular case referred to by the Deputy, I have asked the regional chief executive of the Eastern Regional Health Authority to investigate the matter and reply directly to the Deputy.
