Question:

26 Mr. Moloney asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the number of beef animals subjected to the Enfer test to date in 2001; the results of such tests; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9247/01]

A total of 64,241 tests on cattle have been undertaken in Ireland using the Enfer test. Of these, 64,230 were negative while 11 positive results were found in knackery animals.
