Question:

147 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Public Enterprise the amount of money which was allocated to each of the regional airports over the past ten years, excluding money provided for marketing support. [10055/01]

The following table provides the amount of money, including EU and Exchequer grants, allocated for capital investment projects to each of the six regional airports over the past ten years:

*The figure for Galway includes an allocation of £3.1 million in 1998 for a runway extension project which is ongoing.
In addition to the above, my Department allocated a grant in 1999 of IR£1.528 million to the City of Derry Airport towards the cost of a runway extension project. This grant was matched by a similar allocation to the project by the Northern Ireland authorities.
