Vol. 533 No. 6

Written Answers. - Water and Sewerage Schemes.

Paul Connaughton

Question:

306 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government when grant aid will be made available for the extension of the Portumna sewerage scheme, County Galway to Woodpark; the current position with this application; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9644/01]

A number of options for providing sewerage services for the Woodpark area are currently being examined. A decision will be made as soon as possible.

Liam Aylward

Question:

307 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if he will make a special grant available to allow a group sewerage scheme (details supplied) in County Kilkenny to proceed without further delay. [9647/01]

County councils have received their block grant allocations for group water schemes for the current year under the devolved rural water programme. It is a matter for each county council to prioritise projects in its area for grant assistance. There are no funds available to me outside of the block grants.
