Vol. 533 No. 6

Written Answers. - Film Censor's Office.

Martin Brady

Question:

354 Mr. M. Brady asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will consider the appointment of an inspector as part of the film censor's office to target video stores which are not submitting films to the censor for classification. [9437/01]

My Department has recently obtained the approval of the Minister for Finance to the appointment of an additional head of staff for the film censor's office to perform an inspection function in relation to video retailers licences and video works being offered for sale and-or rental. My Department is organising a competition which will lead to the appointment of this additional head of staff.
