Written Answers. - Schools Building Projects.

Andrew Boylan

Question:

443 Mr. Boylan asked the Minister for Education and Science the position with regard to an extension to Swanlinbar national school, County Cavan; when work can commence; and the amount of grant aid which has been allocated from his Department for the project. [9639/01]

My Department's building unit has no record of having received an application for an extension from the management authorities of Swanlinbar national school.

If such an application is received, it will be processed as quickly as possible having regard to the large number of building projects currently being dealt with by my Department.

Question:

444 Mr. Boylan asked the Minister for Education and Science the position with regard to an extension to Tullyveela national school, County Cavan; when work can commence; and the amount of money which has been allocated from his Department for the project. [9640/01]

My Department is currently awaiting submission from the school authorities of the initial design stages for an extension at Tullyveela national school.

In view of the large number of school building projects being dealt with by my Department at present and the priority to be afforded to such projects, it is not possible at this point to give any indication as to when construction will commence. The question of funding will not arise until a contract has been awarded following the seeking of tenders.

The school authorities will be kept informed of developments.
