Vol. 534 No. 1

Written Answers. - Drugs Strategy.

Bernard Allen

Question:

156 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will reconsider his drugs strategy, in view of a recent statement by the State pathologist that recommended doses of methadone can prove fatal, as reported in a publication (details Supplied). [10168/01]

Conclusions cannot be drawn about this case without knowing the specific details. I understand that the Eastern Regional Health Authority is in contact with the Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform and the coroner's office about the case and will be keeping in touch with my Department on the matter.
