Vol. 534 No. 1

Written Answers. - Home Help Allowance.

Ivan Yates

Question:

178 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will urgently investigate the refusal of an application for a home help allowance from a person (details supplied) in County Wexford, the reason she was refused a home help allowance, if he will clarify the eligibility for a home help allowance, if he will have her case investigated with a view to having a home help allowance approved at the earliest possible date and if he will make a statement on the matter. [10246/01]

I am pleased to inform the Deputy that the health board has advised me that this person has been provided with a home help with effect from 30 March. This service will be provided for 20 hours per week and will be reviewed in one month's time.
