Vol. 534 No. 1

Written Answers. - Departmental Canteen Facilities.

Derek McDowell

Question:

183 Mr. McDowell asked the Minister for Social, Community and Family Affairs the provisions which have been put in place in his Department's canteen to facilitate people with coeliac disease. [10115/10]

My Department has no direct involvement in the provision of meals. Meals consumed in canteens in my Department are provided by staff themselves or by commercial caterers in accordance with demand. However, I am arranging to have all caterers made aware of the desirability of providing meals to satisfy the dietary requirements of all staff, including those with coeliac disease.
