Brendan Kenneally

Question:

138 Mr. Kenneally asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will release approval for the planning and construction of the District Hospital, Dungarvan, County Waterford; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [10930/01]

The prioritisation and delivery of capital projects under the National Development Plan in the first instance is a matter for each health board.

My Department has recently received an application from the South-Eastern Health Board to appoint a project team to the development at the District Hospital, Dungarvan. This is being considered in the context of on-going discussions between the South-Eastern Health Board and my Department to progress individual capital projects under the National Development Plan. My Department will continue to liaise with the South-Eastern Health Board in this matter.

Question:

139 Mr. Kenneally asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will make a supplementary allocation to St. Joseph's Hospital, Dungarvan, County Waterford to enable the 30 bed St. Francis Ward to proceed; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [10931/01]

Under the National Development Plan 2001-2006, a total of £14.801 million was allocated to the South-Eastern Health Board for capital investment in the development of services for older people. It is a matter for the board to decide its priority development projects within the National Development Plan.
