Question:

154 Mr. Flanagan asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the total amount of money paid by his Department, including payment in respect of Ministers of State, in respect of public relations consultancy work undertaken by private sector public relations consultancy firms each year for the years 1998, 1999 and 2000. [10892/01]

The information requested by the Deputy is set out in the following table. The Deputy will note that these firms were generally employed to promote awareness of important issues relating to my Department's functions and to fulfil publicity and information requirements under Cohesion Fund regulations, rather than to deliver a public relations service for my Department.
