Vol. 534 No. 5

Written Answers - Local Authority Housing.

Róisín Shortall

Question:

155 Ms Shortall asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if, further to Parliamentary Question No. 198 of 13 February 2001, he will outline the reason for the delay in approving an application from Dublin Corporation for the installation of central heating to tenants houses; when a decision is likely in this regard; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11281/01]

A reply issued to Dublin Corporation recently reiterating the position outlined in my Department's letter of September last which explained that, apart from the funding under the remedial works scheme and the use of surplus internal capital receipts in certain circumstances, there is no capital allocation available to my Department from which to fund the installation of central heating in local authority houses.
