Written Answers - School Staffing.

Jim Mitchell

Question:

227 Mr. J. Mitchell asked the Minister for Education and Science if, in view of the fact that a school (details supplied) in Dublin 11 cannot get insurance cover until it erects a perimeter fence and closed circuit television estimated to cost £30,000, he would give a once-off special grant to the school in order for it to erect the required security fencing; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11199/01]

An application for security fencing and-or closed circuit television has not been received in my Department in respect of the school to which the Deputy refers. Should the school's management authority apply to my Department for such provision, the matter will be considered.
