Vol. 534 No. 5

Written Answers - Departmental Properties.

Ned O'Keeffe

Question:

87 Mr. N. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Defence if he will make the necessary arrangements to carry out repairs to a roadway (details supplied) in County Cork which serves Army property. [11144/01]

I am informed that the road in question belongs to Cork County Council and, therefore, maintenance of this road is a matter for the council. I am arranging for an inspection to be carried out of the furze bushes growing along that part of the road that passes through my Department's lands. Any necessary hedge trimming will be carried out having regard to sections 40 and 46 of the Wildlife (Amendment) Act, 2000 (Commencement) Order, 2001.
