Vol. 536 No. 3

Written Answers - Bovine Diseases.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

162 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the extent to which payments have been made up to date in respect of depopulation arising from bovine tuberculosis and brucellosis; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14324/01]

Total compensation payments under both schemes made in 2001 to the end of April amount to £7.633 million. Of this total, £5.17 million in reactor grants and £1.206 million in depopulation grants have issued to herd owners throughout the country with the balance representing hardship grant and income supplement payments.
