Vol. 536 No. 3

Written Answers - Compensation Schemes.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

164 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the reason his Department is not dealing with queries raised arising from BSE depopulation in the case of the herd of a person (details supplied) in County Kildare, having particular regard to the medical evidence provided to his Department; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14328/01]

I refer the Deputy to my reply to parliamentary Question No. 117 of 2 May 2001. This matter is still under investigation and it would not be appropriate for me to comment further at this stage. However, my Department is making every effort to have the investigation expedited.
