Vol. 536 No. 3

Written Answers - Taxi Regulations.

Enda Kenny

Question:

202 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government his views on a reduction of the transfer fee in respect of taxi licences; the current transfer fee; if he will consider something similar in this regard in view of other reductions; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14195/01]

The Road Traffic (Public Service Vehicles) (Amendment) (No. 3) Regulations, 2000, have established a revised regime for taxi licensing, including a national licence fee structure. The fee for the permanent transfer of a taxi or wheelchair accessible taxi licence is now £100. I have no proposals to amend this arrangement.
