Vol. 536 No. 3

Written Answers - Framework Plans.

Cecilia Keaveney

Question:

212 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage Gaeltacht and the Islands the position in relation to the framework plans for County Donegal; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [14204/01]

Commonage framework plans are being drafted jointly by my Department and the Department of Agriculture, Food and Rural Development. The drafting of these plans for upland areas of County Donegal is 85% complete at this stage. We are not in a position to publish these plans until the rest of the plans have been completed and checked. The delay in so doing is mainly due to the foot and mouth disease restrictions. In the meantime, however, pending the availability of these plans, as the Deputy may be aware, the interim 30% reduction in stocking from 1998 levels continues to apply in all areas of the country including County Donegal.
