Question:230 Mr. Higgins (Mayo) asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will approve a sports hall for Davitt College, Castlebar, County Mayo. [14146/01]

Approval in principle has already been given to this project. Architectural planning is currently under way by the client's – County Mayo Vocational Educational Committee – design team. Officials in the building unit of my Department are currently examining the stage 2/3 submission, outline sketch scheme-developed sketch scheme, for the project and it is intended to finalise this stage shortly.
