Vol. 536 No. 3

Written Answers - Schools Refurbishment.

Denis Naughten

Question:

240 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for Education and Science when he will approve an extension for Grange national school, County Roscommon; the reason for the delay in approving this project; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14156/01]

Architectural planning for the project referred to by the Deputy is under way at present. However, in view of the large number of school building projects being dealt with by my Department at present, it is not possible to provide a time scale for the provision of the facilities.

John Bruton

Question:

241 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Education and Science when he expects to have works done to Rathbeggan national school, County Meath, to provide a new roof, a new heating system, the resurfacing of the yard and the replacement of windows; and when the first request for these works was made to his Department by the board of management of the school. [14207/01]

Minister for Education and Science (Dr. Woods): My Department's building unit is currently examining proposals for improvement works at Rathbeggan national school, County Meath. However, it is not possible at this point to give any indication as to the timetable for carrying out these improvement works.
