Vol. 536 No. 3

Written Answers - Schools Building Projects.

Nora Owen

Question:

256 Mrs. Owen asked the Minister for Education and Science the progress which has been made in the preparation for plans for a new school (details supplied) in County Dublin; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14296/01]

My Department has advertised in the Official Journal of the European Communities for the appointment of a full design team, that is, an architect, quantity surveyor, structural engineer and mechanical and electrical engineer, for the re-development of the school to which the Deputy refers. Also, officials from my Department recently met with representatives of the school management authority to discuss the scheduling of the architectural planning process, to agree the authority's input into this process and to agree a programme of liaison between the school management authority and officials from my Department as this project progresses.
