84 Mr. S. Ryan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the number of consignments which have been rejected or quarantined following inspection at Border inspection posts; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14079/01]

Since the beginning of 1998, 14 consignments of products of animal origin from Third counties have been rejected at designated Border inspection posts in Ireland. No live animals originating in third countries have been quarantined in this time period.
