Vol. 536 No. 3

Written Answers - Legislative Programme.

Brian O'Shea

Question:

132 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Public Enterprise the plans she has to publish the telecommunications regulation Bill before the summer recess; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [14165/01]

The general scheme of the Communications (Regulation) Bill was approved by the Government in March of this year, and is now with the Office of the Parliamentary Counsel to the Government for drafting. Drafting will be completed over the coming months and the Bill will then be resubmitted for Government approval to publish as the Communications (Regulation) Bill, 2001. It is my intention to seek priority in the drafting of the Bill and to publish it this summer.

Question No. 133 answered with Question No. 131.
