191 Mr. G. Mitchell asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the representations he has received to give the Attorney General a statutory right of consultation on the appointment of judges; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14366/01]

The provisions proposed in section 7 of the Courts and Court Officers Bill, 2001, were, in common with the provisions of the Bill as a whole, determined by Government. I received no representations in that regard.
