Vol. 536 No. 6

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Michael Ring

Question:

155 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive a REP scheme payment. [15233/01]

In the initial processing of this application for payment, an issue was identified relating to title to land and the file was selected for a compliance check including an on-farm inspection. The applicant was requested to provide some documentation relating to title to lands. This documentation was received on 26 February 2001 and the title issue has been resolved to my Department's satisfaction. The on-farm inspection was delayed because my Department had to suspend farm visits from 22 February to combat the threat of foot and mouth disease. The restriction on farm visits was lifted as and from 11 May 2001, and an official of my Department will be in touch this week with the applicant to arrange a visit. If everything is found to be in order, payment will issue as soon as possible after the visit.
