Vol. 536 No. 6

Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.

John Perry

Question:

168 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will intervene with the consultant in St. James's Hospital on behalf of a person (details supplied) in County Sligo and have her immediately called for treatment; if he will ensure that her appointment is guaranteed; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [15230/01]

The provision of medical treatment to eligible persons in County Sligo is, in this instance, the statutory responsibility of the North Western Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position in relation to this case and reply to the Deputy directly.
