Vol. 536 No. 6

Written Answers. - Task Force on Lifelong Learning.

Michael Creed

Question:

136 Mr. Creed asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the situation regarding the task force on lifelong learning; and the progress made on the issue of paid educational leave. [15195/01]

The task force has established two subgroups to focus on the issues of access and barriers to lifelong learning and workplace learning-upskilling respectively. The work of these subgroups will form a significant input into the draft report of the task force, which is being prepared by my Department. I understand that the task force has not yet come to a final position on the issue of paid educational leave and will consider the matter further prior to the finalisation of its report. It is expected that the report will be completed during the summer months.
