Written Answers. - Food Residues.

John Bruton

Question:

106 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if there is regular testing to ensure that excessive levels of chlorpyriphos are not found in Irish food. [15481/01]

All samples of fruit and vegetables analysed by the pesticide control service of my Department are analysed for residues of chlorpyriphos. They are found in Irish food and the results of the annual monitoring programmes have been published since 1990.
