Vol. 537 No. 1

Written Answers. - Hospitals Building Programme.

Jimmy Deenihan

Question:

125 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Health and Children when the design team will be appointed to undertake the detailed technical planning for the community hospital for the elderly in Tralee, County Kerry; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [15434/01]

The provision of health services in County Kerry in the first instance is a matter for the Southern Health Board. The Southern Health Board has advised that it has provided for a community nursing unit in Tralee as one of the projects it wishes to develop under the National Development Plan 2001-2006. A project team has been appointed by the board and it will be a matter for that project team to propose a timetable which has regard to the various project management and planning issues of such developments.
