149 Ms Shortall asked the Minister for Health and Children if, in relation to his campaign to reduce under age drinking and the establishment of the cool choices website, he will provide details of the number of hits since its inception; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [15509/01]
I have been advised that the number of hits on a website is extremely difficult to calculate and that the figures commonly given by hit counters are largely meaningless. While it is possible to measure the minimum number of times a website has been accessed, in the case of coolchoices.ie this is estimated to be 21,683, the true figure is likely to be a large multiple of this. The design of the cool choices website was experimental in nature. Following evaluation and examination of feedback from users, it is currently offline while improvements are made. It is hoped to have it have it back online shortly.
