Vol. 537 No. 1

Written Answers. - Rural Environment Protection Scheme.

Michael Ring

Question:

86 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when a decision on a REP scheme appeal for a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will be made available. [15391/01]

I understand that this case is not the subject of an appeal in the formal sense, but that there has been correspondence between the Deputy and my Department with regard to an issue of eligibility of certain lands for payment under the rural environment protection scheme. In an effort to resolve this complex issue, officials of my Department have been in contact this week with the person named to arrange an on-farm visit where they will explain the position fully and inform him of the requirements for his future participation in the scheme.
