Vol. 537 No. 3

Written Answers. - Bed Closures.

Alan Shatter

Question:

171 Mr. Shatter asked the Minister for Health and Children if, in respect of each hospital in the State, he will give the number of bed days lost in 2000 as a result of bed closures; and the number of such bed days lost in 2000. [16336/01]

My Department does not routinely collect national data in relation to the number of bed days lost. My Department has, therefore, asked the regional chief executive officer of the Eastern Regional Health Authority and the chief executive officers of the health boards to compile the figures for their areas and forward them to the Deputy directly.

Question No. 172 answered with Question No. 95.
