26 Ms Clune asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation if he has received confirmation from the Department Finance agreeing to an excise rebate on fuel for the coach tour sector, by way of clarification to his reply on 1 May 2001; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16117/01]
As I stated in my reply to Question No. 57 on 1 May 2001, responsibility for the fuel rebate system is a matter for the Minister for Finance, Deputy McCreevy, and, therefore, representations in relation to any extension or amendment, in favour of coach tour operators, would be more appropriately addressed to him.
I can confirm that I have had the Dáil exchanges of 1 May 2001 on this subject brought to the attention of my colleague.
