Question:

70 Mr. Stanton asked the Minister for Public Enterprise the number of assistant secretaries in her Department; the responsibilities of each; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16431/01]

The Department of Public Enterprise has six assistant secretaries.

One assistant secretary has responsibility for the public transport regulatory affairs, CIE restructuring division, railway inspectorate and road haulage division. Another assistant secretary has responsibility for public transport, CIE corporate affairs and investment division, transport planning division and public private partnerships.

One assistant secretary has responsibility for the energy area. One assistant secretary has responsibility for corporate service, GSI, Met Éireann and sustainable energy. One assistant secretary has responsibility for communications. One assistant secretary has responsibility for the aviation area.
