251 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the progress to date in relation to a person (details supplied) in County Roscommon who applied to his Department for approval to sell their milk quota; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17199/01]

At present my Department is finalising the transfer of milk quotas for the milk quota year 2000-01, that is, the year ended 31 March 2001.

The case referred to by the Deputy concerns a transfer in the quota year 2001-02. Processing of transfers for this year will commence shortly and the person named will be notified directly.
