Vol. 537 No. 5

Written Answers. - Dental Service.

Pat Carey

Question:

312 Mr. P. Carey asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason a person (details supplied) in Dublin 11 did not receive dental treatment at his local health centre and had to pay £10 for basic treatment to a private dentist and will have to pay £40 per tooth extraction; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16685/01]

As the provision of dental services to eligible persons in Dublin 11 is the statutory responsibility of the Eastern Regional Health Authority, I have asked the chief executive officer of that authority to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.
