Vol. 537 No. 5

Written Answers. - Street Prostitution.

Tony Gregory

Question:

466 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the policy of the Garda authorities in relation to street prostitution in residential areas; and if particular attention can be paid to an area (details supplied) in Dublin 7. [16547/01]

The Garda Síochána rigorously pursues all forms of criminal activity, including those relating to street prostitution.

I am informed by the Garda authorities that the location referred to by the Deputy is regularly patrolled by beat and mobile units and forms part of an area patrolled to prevent this type of activity. I am also assured that the area in question will continue to receive the appropriate Garda attention.
