Question:

554 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Education and Science the number of cases in which his Department and the State have been successfully sued by victims of abuse in residential institutions and conventional primary and post-primary schools; the breakdown of cases between sexual and non-sexual abuse; and the number of unsuccessful cases in each category. [16738/01]

There have been no cases where my Department has been either successfully or unsuccessfully sued in respect of any abuse in either a residential institution, or in a conventional primary or post-primary school.
